Living With Urgency

Jun 27, 2022 | Monday Mindset

Good Morning Team,

I hope you all had a great weekend!

My son turned the page to a new chapter on Saturday when he turned 13 years old. I literally can not believe how fast time has flown by. He was just a baby… and now he’s a teenager!

I’m sure all of you parents can relate.

And looking back at how fast time has flown by is the inspiration for today’s mindset message….

Living With Urgency“.

We’ve all heard it before, “tomorrow is never promised today”.

I came to firmly understand this quote early on in my law enforcement days in 2006 when I first became exposed to circumstances where there was sudden unexpected tragedy where a life was lost.

I remember vividly arriving to my first fatality car accident and seeing the lifeless body of a man who had rolled his car several times and was ejected during one of the rotations.

I will save you the gory details, but I remember thinking to myself, “this guy had no idea that today would be his last on this earth”.

Ever since then, I have been massively intentional about living a life of urgency.

Here’s what I mean….

We all know that our days on this planet are numbered. And when we consider how many people have come and gone over thousands of years, we are reminded that our time on this planet is truly a vapor… In the grand scheme of things, we’re here and then we’re gone…

During our short time on Earth, each one of us is creating a legacy and footprint. The only question is, what is that legacy and how big of a footprint are we leaving behind?

You see, when each one of us dies, we actually experience two deaths… The first is our physical death. The second is the last time anyone ever utters our name again. It’s upon the second death that this world and everyone on it, forgets we ever even existed…

And while we may not like the fact that we will all die, it’s a reality which none of us have control over.

What we do have control over, however, is the legacy we create and the size of the footprint we leave behind.

My plea to you is to live with urgency…

Be in a hurry to create experiences… be in a hurry to develop time freedom that allows for you to spend more time with the people you love… be in a hurry to create generational wealth… be in a hurry to create big impact in other peoples lives.

Be in a hurry to create huge impact and as big of a positive footprint as possible.

And if you do it all right, your legacy will live on forever.
