Good morning,
Last week I was on a call with a new coaching client, and we were having a conversation about her feelings since signing on as a client.
She told me that she was extremely excited and ready for the growth and opportunity just ahead for her and her company. She also told me about her feelings of anxiety and fear because of what the change might look like and the risk required to take things to the next level.
It was an interesting conversation…
…It wasn’t the work she was concerned about. She’s got a clear track record of getting shit done. It wasn’t even the price tag of $3,250/mo she’s paying me to coach her. She’s aware of my 4-year track record.
As she articulated her feelings, I recognized them right away… They were the feelings that come with STRETCH GOALS.
.. Fear..
.. Anxiety..
.. Worry..
.. Excitement..
.. Self-Doubt..
I reassured her that what she was feeling was the byproduct of setting and chasing down big, audacious goals. They go hand in hand.
And here’s the catch… because of those feelings, most people never even come close to tapping into their full potential. They rather play small and play it safe, than feel uncomfortable.
So I will pass along to you what I told this client….
If you risk nothing, you risk EVERYTHING. You will never achieve what you’re truly capable of if you’re unwilling to lean into the discomfort and risk that come along with setting and chasing down BIG goals.
Don’t run from the feelings and don’t ignore them either. They serve an important purpose.
