Good morning!
When we hear people say, “If it were easy, everyone would do it”, we all instinctively know that to be true. It’s not that profound of a statement…
And just as the saying isn’t that profound, neither are the ingredients for accomplishing really changing things.
There are 3 things you need to take on really hard shit, overcome all of the obstacles, and get across the finish line…
1) Be crystal clear on your “why”. The bigger the challenge you’re taking on, the bigger your “why” needs to be.
2) Be resilient AF. The bigger the goals and outcomes you’re looking to produce, the more obstacles and challenges you should expect. You WILL get knocked down, have setbacks, experience hardship, and it will take more time and money than you expected. If you’re going to get across the finish line, you MUST be resilient.
3) Have a great team. The bigger the project, the bigger the impact you can have. But you will not be able to do it alone. You will need a team of others who can help you divide and conquer. Make sure to choose your team wisely and treat them well.
When I decided to host the big couples event this July, I had never done anything like that before. And boy, let me tell you… I am having to flex every one of those 3 points above right now, even as I write this mindset email to you.
My “why” is this… I am the product of many broken homes. My siblings and I grew up experiencing the impact of one failed relationship after another. And I’m far from being alone in knowing how shitty that was. You may have experienced divorce as a child yourself. I imagine you haven’t forgotten how that felt… and neither have I.
My wife and I are hosting the Ignite Your Life Experience and launching the couple’s community because there are too many families right now that are either stagnant or trending in the wrong direction in their marriage. And we want to do something about that. We are creating a space for couples to connect, achieve, and dominate together. We are going to reduce the number of marriages that dissolve into divorce and create lifelong heartache for their kids.
You can bet that we’ve had to overcome logistics issues, unexpected costs, objections, obstacles, and a multitude of other things thrown our way. But we remember our “why”, are resilient AF, and have an amazing team. Because not getting over the finish line isn’t an option for us.
