Do YOU Know Where Your Passion Comes From?

Jun 26, 2023 | Monday Mindset

It’s Monday… LFG!

Our Greek ancestors used to say, ‘On the other side of adversity is where passion is found.’

Think about it… if you were to reverse engineer some of the things you’re most passionate about or the times you experienced the most growth, it’s linked to adversity you overcame.

And even though the adverse circumstance sucked at the time, in most cases, you wouldn’t change it.

As I look back to the 2014-2015 timeframe when my marriage was falling apart, we were in substantial debt, and I was 60LBS overweight, the adversity in my life was REAL.

Mentally.. Physically.. Emotionally.. and Relationally, I was at an ALL TIME LOW.

But as I look back now, I wouldn’t change a thing.

It was overcoming all that adversity that has made my wife and I closer than ever.. It’s the reason why we are 8-figure entrepreneurs.. It’s why we have so much connection, happiness, and fulfillment in our lives.

Here’s what we learned in our Rags to Riches journey…

1) How you look at adversity matters. How you overcome adversity and what happens on the other side are MASSIVELY influenced by your mindset. If you look at whatever the shitty circumstance is as an opportunity to grow, learn, and get better… you will.

2) Stop self-sabotaging. If you’re doing stupid shit, letting the wrong people influence you, or acting without integrity, you will cause undue stress, adversity, and pain in your life. Self-sabotage destroys relationships, and it will rob you of your potential.

3) Audit your relationships. Push anyone or anything out of your life that isn’t serving you, your family, or your goals well. In their place, pull in people and habits that lift you, make you better, and help you achieve your goals. Success leaves clues, follow them.

Being off base with those 3 things almost cost me my marriage, my son, and bankruptcy. But once I figured it out, EVERYTHING began to change for the better.

You can’t avoid the adversity life throws at you, but you can avoid the adversity you through at yourself.

Go forth and conquer,

Matt
