Do you know the Importance of Building and Destroying the Right Things?

Nov 7, 2022 | Monday Mindset

This is the Monday Mindset Newsletter that was sent on Monday 11/7/2022…

Good morning, Team!

This weekend myself and the other MDK Instructors loaded up and flew to North Carolina for Squire Class 008. It was hosted by an absolute badass and good friend, Nick Koumalatsos at his private gym. We were also fortunate enough to have Matt Beaudreau there as a special guest. If you’re not already following them and the impact they are having on social media, you should be! They are men out there changing the world for the better.

At this point, we have over 600 graduates between the Project and Squire Program. Boys as young as 11 years old, all the way to our oldest graduate of the Project being 60.

What they all have in common is an unwavering commitment to becoming the very best version of themselves. But not just for themselves, but for those they love as well.

Our world needs more people like these guys. Willing to invest in themselves and their families, willing to do the hard work, willing to edit or delete unhealthy relationships, and UNwilling to allow anyone else to sit in the driver’s seat of their life.

One of the things I was asked about during the Squire class this weekend was the Project Crest. Myself, all the other MDK Instructors, and around 80 other graduates of the Project have the crest tattooed on our bodies.

The symbolism of the crest is deep and meaningful. And it’s applicable to everyone, everywhere. So I thought I would share it here.

The Crest is made up of a Skull wearing a Warriors Helmet, and Two Battle Axes.

The Skull is a reminder that our days on this planet are limited. Death is in all of our futures. There is no escaping it. That said, we must live with urgency. Be in a hurry to accomplish as much as absolutely possible, as quickly as possible. Remember that you’re leaving a legacy and a footprint here on earth. The question is…. What will your legacy be and how large of a footprint will you leave?

The Warriors Helmet is a reminder that we are Warriors! We must fight for the Health, Wealth, and Relationships we want most. Success will not just fall into your lap. Joyful and fulfilling relationships don’t just happen. Bank accounts don’t just fill up with numbers requiring commas. The things we want most in this life must be fought for, developed, and protected.

Fight for the things that are most important to you and your family. Be a Warrior with a Burn the Ships mindset and never accept failure as an option.

Battle Axe #1 is a reminder that we Build. We build families.. We build wealth.. We build habits.. We build opportunity.. We build community.. We build legacies..

The first axe reminds us that we must always be very intentional and deliberate about what we build and create.

Battle Axe #2 is a reminder that we Destroy. Just as we can build families, wealth, habits, opportunities, and legacy… We can destroy those things as well.

That said, some relationships and habits need to be destroyed. It’s critical to destroy any relationship to people, circumstances, or habits that are unhealthy and/or act as an anchor, rather than a sail, to your goals and ideal outcomes.

Never forget about the importance of building and destroying the right things. And always remember that whatever your circumstances are, you can change them if you so desire.

So as you launch into this week and we wrap up the final days of 2022, do so with Urgency and as a Warrior. Build upon the relationships and circumstances that are inching you closer and closer to where you want to be. Never accept failure as an option. And destroy anything or anyone who attempts to stand in your way!

Go forth and conquer,

Matt
