Are You Truly Thinking BIG?!

This is the Monday Mindset Newsletter that was sent on Monday 2/6/2022…

It’s Monday and time to get after it!

Back in 2012, my wife and I took a trip to Newport Beach, CA. We were there for a wedding and had a room at a great little hotel right on the beach called the Balboa Hotel.

As we walked alongside the boardwalk, I was in amazement at the homes that overlooked the ocean. When we came to one home that was for sale, I took a flyer, and as expected, the house was a few million. Being curious about what a mortgage payment would be on a house like that, I did some rough math, and it came out to be around $15,000 per month!

At the time, I couldn’t comprehend that. Our house payment was right around $2,000/mo, and I thought that was a lot… But back then, I wasn’t too close to other real high-level achievers, and my “lid” for understanding what real wealth looked like was quite low.

I had my close group of friends, and all of them were doing alright, but I didn’t really have relationships with anyone that was experiencing the kinds of success to help me understand how having a beach house, and the payment associated with it, could be possible.

Back then, I thought big… but I had no idea how small I was actually thinking and playing.

Fast forward to 2016 timeframe, I had been an entrepreneur for a few years and had met a handful of high-level achievers. I began to see that these highly successful and fulfilled people all acted in similar ways, and I started to pay attention.

I began to adopt their success habits. And wouldn’t you know it, it’s paid off… I say this not to brag whatsoever but to help you and others understand that if I can do it, so can you! I now make more money in two months than what my six-figure annual salary used to be back then. And I actually spend fewer hours working for it…

It’s no longer a mystery to me on how people afford $15,000/mo house payments for luxury homes on the beach. In fact, my wife and I have recently decided we will be buying one of our own in Florida in the near future.

Here are the success habits of the highly successful. Do these things, and you will also enjoy having more time freedom, money freedom, and fulfillment in your life.

  1. Community is key. If you want to achieve levels of success much greater than you think is possible, you must surround yourself with others with hunger, humility, and passion for progress. Surrounding yourself with average people with average mindsets and average goals will guarantee average results with an average livelihood.
  2. Personal Development. There is a saying, “the best is yet to come.” This is both a mindset and an action. If you constantly invest in your personal and professional development, you will continue to open your mind and expand your abilities. As long as you continue investing in our personal and professional development, the better you will continue to become, and so will the results and outcomes.
  3. Have a CEO mindset with a White Belt mentality. If you want an abundance of success in your Health, Wealth, and Relationships, develop and maintain a hunger for learning, the humility to ask questions, the clarity of what the big “win” looks like, and the resilience to get back up when knocked down.
  4. Become great at saying “No”. It can be so easy to chase the “good idea fairy” every time it flashes in front of you.. or procrastinate on a project in exchange for a night out.. or buy that thing that you really don’t need and isn’t a good investment.. The list goes on and on. But if you want to really make it big and enjoy a life of time and money freedom… Say “NO” to anything and anyone that would create a deviation in the slightest from your goals.

Those are some of the top success habits that I adopted years ago and have served my family and me very well. I would HIGHLY recommend that if you have the desire to level up in your Health, Wealth, and/or Relationships, you follow those same habits.

Go forth and conquer!

Matt
